McCain Side-Steps Gay Adoption Question On Air

John McCain’s appeared on ABC’s This Week and host George Stephanopoulos pressed him several issues, one being whether or not he supports gay adoption. McCain dodged answering the question by saying “my position is its not the reason I’m running for President of the United States”. McCain also commented that while it is important to emphasize family values, he hopes people understand that it is very important to realize that we have other challenges. Then McCain quickly added “I’m running for president of the United States because I want to help with family values.” Bottom line, McCain is refusing to commit to whether or not he supports gay adoption. It would appear by watching the video, this question is not one McCain feels comfortable talking about.
