The E.U. Likes Us - But What’s Not To Like
July 17, 2008 by James Hipps
A recent survey, published earlier this month takes a look at discrimination in the European Union. It demonstrated a growing acceptance of the LGBT community within the E.U., but a press release from the International Lesbian and Gay Association shows there is more work to do. The survey, conducted between February and March 2008, revealed discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is the second highest form of discrimination in the E.U. with discrimination based on ethnic origin coming in first place. The study does show however that the population of a majority of countries of the E.U. believe that sexual orientation discrimination has sharply decreased over the past five years.
