On Issue of Gay Marriage - Money Talks

North Country Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava says voting for gay marriage may be the risky thing to do, but it is what she believes in.
While gay marriage is still illegal in New York, it is an issue that is at the forefront of religion and politics.
The North Country Assemblywoman voted in favor of legalizing the right and according to the New York Sun, Scozzafava received $15,000 in out-of-state donations.
Scozzafava says she has received more out of state donations since she voted for legalizing gay marriage, but the donations were only an unintended result of her yes vote.
Religion, according to her, should not be grounds to take away people’s civil rights.
Governor David Paterson wants the state to recognize same sex marriages performed in states where it is legal.
