GLAAD Annouces Six Year Anniversary Increase

On August 18, 2002, The New York Times began including same-sex weddings on their weddings and celebrations pages. GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) was there helping them to lead the way. GLAAD recently announced over 1,000 U.S. daily newspapers now print wedding announcements from same-sex couples. This number is up over 15 times the number of papers who included gay marriage announcements since GLAAD first started documenting which papers have inclusive policies for same sex couples.
