OC’s Top Ten Donors Against Gay Marriage

In Orange County California, Republicans dominate political force, and tens of thousands of those republicans pour into the Evangelical megachurches every Sunday.  This group has become a powerhouse for funding the Proposition 8 measure that would again ban same-sex marriage in California.

Citizens of Orange County have collectively donated over $1.6 million for the November ballot measure.

According to the California Secretary of State, the top ten donors in OC to the Proposition are as follows:

•Donald G. Laws, $100,000, Laguna Beach

•Steve Samuelian, $100,000, Laguna Beach

•Larry Smith, $67,000, Newport Beach

•Robert Hurtt Jr., $50,000, Orange

•Alan H. Anderson, $25,000, Laguna Beach

•Mark Hobbins, $25,000, Trabuco Canyon

•Willis Hamilton, $25,000, Orange

•Jay Bradford, $15,000, Placentia
