On the Subject of Sarah Palin

On the Subject of Sarah Palin

We are all aware of the grandiose controversy surrounding Sarah Palin. Her experience, or lack thereof, and some of the rather shady dealings she has been involved with. I must say it amazes me how the GOP has been slamming the the Democratic party for bringing out the “not so favorable” parts of Ms. Palin’s life.  For one, it is not the Democratic party, it is the press.  And secondly, as a citizen of this country, I have the right to know what is going on in the personal lives of those who want to run the country.  Now, with the exception of her opposition in supporting equal human rights, I really don’t have a lot of personal animosity towards her, nor do I want to indulge in any type of smear campaign that would falsely accuse McCain’s running mate of anything, as I firmly believe she will take care of that on her own. I would also like it to be noted that I agree wholly with Senator Obama when he says that family is off limits (of course referring to her underage daughter’s illegitimate pregnancy) but, I did hear a question posed on NPR yesterday afternoon which has stuck out in my mind as a perspective to ponder. That question was, would people who are defending Ms. Palin and her daughter feel “so warm and fuzzy about it if this was a black person we were talking about”.

Just a thought!

This is a valid question you raise. I liken it to the one I and others have posed concerning the immigration issue. Would those on the right be so virulent towards illegal immigrants had it been Canadians illegally entering the U.S.?
