Religion Playing a Major Role in Right Wing Politics

Religion has re-emerged as a major-but-different factor in politics. The most visible activists are the right-wing fundamentalist groups that believes their role in public affairs is to oppose abortion and gay rights, to the point that Republican leaders guilty of adultery and dishonesty in their political ads are still treated as heroes if they oppose abortion and gay rights.
