HRC Launches New Site to “End The Lies”
March 5, 2009 by James Hipps
The Human Rights Campaign,or HRC launched a website today with the goal of confronting right-wing lies and distortions that have been used repeatedly in their efforts to prevent measures that would provide equality to the LGBT community. EndtheLies.org is contradicting the lies and mistruths through means of respectful dialogue and education.
EndtheLies.org was launched today in conjunction with the beginning oral arguments of the invalidity of Prop 8, which takes place before the California Supreme Court.
According to the site:
End the Lies is a campaign by the Human Rights Campaign to expose the lies and fear-tactics of anti-LGBT voices and counteract them with respectful dialogue and grassroots action. In response to the dishonesty and bigotry spotlighted in this space, thousands are signing our petition and declaring their support. The petition will be used to bolster lobbying efforts and media outreach on behalf of LGBT equality.
Supporters of LGBT equality are also encouraged to nominate other voices of the radical right for inclusion on the Interactive Wall.
The Human Rights Campaign represents a grassroots force of over 750,000 members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, HRC envisions an America where LGBT people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.
