President Obama Ends Ban on Stem Cell Research Funding
March 9, 2009 by James Hipps
President Obama has taken one giant step for the office of President, and an even bigger step for mankind, as he put an end to the federal funding ban on embryonic stem cell research. He has managed to erase the influence of George Bush’s religious agenda that Bush, and the religious right extremist have been forcing on American citizens for the past 8 years.
Even though there was overwhelming support from the scientific and public communities when it came to embryonic stem cell research, Bush allowed the lines of separation of church and state to blur, pandering to his religious right followers, and refused to allow continuing medical research. Bush was able to spends hundreds of billions of dollars taking life through the Iraqi war however.
President Obama stated:
“these tiny cells (that) may have the potential to help us understand, and possibly cure, some of our most devastating diseases and condition.”
Stem cell research is going to be key in discovering cures for many diseases and physical ailments that plague people world-wide.
Thank you President Obama for not allowing religion to cloud your judgement and prevent scientist from helping the world!
