So by now you may have heard of John Gechter, aka Vincent DeSalvo, the gay porn star for Randy Blue who was suspended from Grove City College (GCC) in Pennsylvania, for a period of no less than one year for behavior unbecoming of “school values”, after it was discovered he was involved in gay porn.
According to John, a student at GCC was doing what the school calls “surfing inappropriate content” on the internet when he discovered pics of John, and they were quickly forwarded to other students, and eventually to the school’s administration.
John has a total 135 credits, more than enough to graduate, but because of his suspension, he will not be allowed to apply for graduation, which means of course, he will not be graduating from GCC, but is likely to have to transfer to another university or college, resulting in loosing credits, and prolonging his college career.
Although there not be a great deal of gray area on whether or not he broke the school’s code of conduct, as John explained, it does seem to be harsh the school won’t even allow him to apply for and receive his diploma, allowing him to move forward with his studies as he wishes to pursue a D.P.T. or doctorate of physical therapy. John also supports his case by stating he was not living on campus, he is an adult, and this is not a reflection upon GCC.
A spokes person for the school’s administration claims they aren’t sure where John went wrong, but they would like to “help him get out of this life”.
Gechter told us he’s facing school charges of sexual misconduct, participating in the public display of pornography, and adhering to standards which do not follow the mission or values of the college.
This episode also has served as John’s “coming out” to his family and many of his friends. Prior to the incident, he had not divulged his “secret life in gay porn”, not even to his college roommate.
John was kind enough to take some time to speak with us, and the conversation has been recorded. If you would like, you can listen to it on the player underneath his picture at the top of this post.
I would like to wish John the best of luck with his future endeavors, as he, like the rest of us, is just trying to make it. John is a really sincere, and open person, with a great deal to offer. I find it a bit sad this is still an issue in this day and age. If there wasn’t a market for porn, no one would be making it. I hope someday the negative stigma goes away. I view this along the same lines as how society will judge a female as a slut if she is promiscuous. Perhaps everyone needs to relax just a bit…it’s only sex, and yes humans, as living creatures do, have sex.

What an excellent interview!
I would be curious to know if John had to sign any kind of “Code of Ethics/Conduct” as a part of admission to the school. That might be the only grounds for them to kick uo their heels.
It is completly delcious to me that the GCC and Randy Blue links are in the same sentence. Brilliant.
Well, I think John did a great job during his interview but I would have to ask him, why would he go to such a conservative school and go out in a very public forum and become a porn star without realizing this might come out?
Granted he has the right to earn a profession to put himself through school but he had to know that it might come up eventually.
I completely support his decision and right to choose this profession and in my opinion, this country places way too much importance on sex/porn.
I was a good freind of Marilyn Chambers and we had this discussion many times over dinner. It is no one’s business and it surely not affect your right to graduate from college!
Good Luck John with your future and I wish you the best in dealing with this situation. You are a very strong person and hold on to that!
