HERE! Set to Debut “The Awakening Of Spring”

America’s premium LGBT television network, is pleased to announce the network debut of “The Awakening of Spring,” a televised stage play based on of the 1891 Frank Wedekind play. Written and directed by Arthur Allan Seidelman, this adaptation features a talented cast including Victoria Tennant, John Aniston, Constance Towers, Jesse Lee Sofer and Jason Graae. “The Awakening of Spring” makes its network debut on Friday, July 31st.

“The Awakening of Spring,” based on the revolutionary Wedekind play, centers on Michael, who is slightly more educated in the mysteries of human reproduction than his sheltered friends. Passing on his knowledge has tragic consequences for Michael in the oppressive society of his day.

Originally published in 1891, Wedekind’s work about a group of teenagers discovering the joys and difficulties of sexuality was banned in Germany shortly after it was written. Its first productions in the United States and London were also closed by censors. Both poignant and powerful, the play remains as relevant today as when published more than 100 years ago.
