Seattle Judge Blocks Release of Names
June 26, 2009 by James Hipps
Recently, Philip Irvin, an anti-gay activist and employee of Seattle City Light filed a public disclosure request for the membership list and minutes of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning and Friends Club in hopes the names of those who attend meetings would be made public in order to shame the members.
On Monday, King County Superior Court Judge John Erlick ordered that some documents be released, but also ruled to temporarily block the names of those attending meetings of the city-sponsored club for LGBT employees to be withheld.
The identities of those who received a “public benefit,” such as wages on other compensation, may be released following a hearing later this year, but for now, the names of members will be kept in the closet.

I can hear the right wing now wondering why those names can’t be released by the Prop 8 contributor names were released… hrmph.
I know you’re right. I can hear it already. I think that was the guys motivation behind pressing for the names to be released in the first place. Tit for tat!
