Madonna Pays Tribute to Michael Jackson
July 6, 2009 by James Hipps
On July 4th, Madonna paid tribute to Michael Jackson in the same arena where he was suppose to perform his comeback with a series of 50 concerts at the 23,000-seat O2 starting July 13.
According to various reports, a picture of Michael Jackson when he was younger appeared onstage while Madonna performed “Holiday.” She was then joined by a Michael impersonator who was wearing a sequined jacket, white T-shirt, white glove and white socks and the music changed to Jackson’s “Wanna Be Starting Something.”
After the number, Madonna asked the audience, “Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known,” and the crowd of approximately 17,000 went wild.
