Don’t Like Obama or Equality? Just Rewriting the Bible!

Sometimes I really wish this stuff was made up…but it looks like the religious right is so distraught over the election of a Black, Democratic president, they’ve decided the Bible needs to be revised in order to object to things like equality and providing health care for those in need. I’m not sure how one ‘qualifies’ to speak for God, but it looks like if you’re a member of the religious right nut house, then you may be the one for the job.
According to a post on Chattahbox:
Conservative fundamentalist Christian and founder of Conservapedia, Andy Schlafly is on a mission to remove all liberal bias inserted into the Bible by professor-translators, whom Schlafly claims “overwhelmingly” voted for President Obama. These wild eyed radical, biblical scholars have distorted the Bible with liberal terms and Socialism, according to Schlafly, and he plans to rewrite the King James Bible to make it more right-wing.
Schlafly, the son of the extreme right-wing activist Phyllis Schlafly founded Conservapedia in 2006, because he believed Wikipedia had a liberal, anti-Christian and anti-American bias. He now has set his sights on transforming the Bible to better suit his own Conservative bias.
Despite the oft-repeated belief by Christian Fundamentalists that the Bible contains the literal word of God, Schlafly intends to rewrite it with a “conservative word-for-word” translation.
Appearing on Alan Colmes’ radio program Tuesday night, Schlafly described his ridiculous Bible rewriting project, as a way to remove the taint interjected by Obama-voting liberal professors translating the Bible.
“You look at each successive translation and it gets more liberal,” complained Schafly.
I suppose Gay Activists could delete Leviticus 18:22 (Old Testament) and Romans 1:47 (New Testament) from their Bibles.
I am sure some Churches would be happy to assist them.
Sure, but if gay activist are going to delete Leviticus, are the “real Christians” going to stop eating shellfish, stop wearing poly cotton blends, or stone their wives if they cheat?

GASP! I guess I’m not a real Christian, I was eating shrimp last night and I think my pants might be poly cotton. I’m not to worried about being stoned, my husband and I are quite happy. Then of course the Bible also has men who have plenty of wives to go around, but I guess that’s OK because a man can have as many wives as he wants; but I could only have one husband- RIGHT, that makes perfect sense!

Obama voting liberal professors? And the stupidity of the right wingers keeps growing . . .
I’m almost tempted to check out Conservapedia, but I might need to be in the right kind of mood for that BS, reading that much stupidity can backfire and send my Irish-girl temper through the roof.
If we’re re-writing the Bible than I’d like to re-write the part about Judas kissing Jesus, obviously that’s gay and we can’t have anything gay in the Bible because being gay is a sin. I’ll re-write that part now, it can say that Judas jumped up and down screaming “that’s him over there!”.
