Is Religion Controlling Our Politics?

In recent years, the United States has been inclined to mix religion and politics. From abortion to gay rights, religious groups have started to fight for their personal views, which were unwanted in the past by political movements, leading to a separation of church and state.
Most Americans wanted politics to function without the tense friction from religion, while maintaining religion in individuals’ homes. What once was kept out of politics, the American government has had no option but to allow Americans to exercise their civil rights. What’s intriguing is that politics has no rights in religion, but religion has every right to try and change politics.
Religious groups have taken upon themselves to fight against immoral actions, pointing a finger at what goes against God without realizing they have three pointing back at them. Many can agree that politics are not perfect, mostly because there are plenty of things that need to change.
