CBS Trying to Make Up for Lost Characters?
July 31, 2010 by Gay Agenda News Team
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has given CBS a “Failing” grade because they don’t see the network as fairly and accurately portraying the LGBT community. In fact, CBS received the worst grade amongst the five major networks for a second year in a row.
GLAAD’s report is based on the criteria of “quantity, quality and diversity of images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.”
According to reports however, it looks as though the network is trying to confront the issue by adding some gay characters to their fall line up, 3 to be exact.
Nina Tassler, the president of CBS entertainment told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that she, along with her CBS peers are addressing this issue and will be introducing gay characters on ‘$#*! My Dad Says’, ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘Rules of Engagement’.
It may be hind sight, or perhaps too little too late, but it’s good to see they’re at least paying attention!
