LaBarbera’s “AFTAH” Is Anything But

December 16, 2009 by Gay Agenda News Team · 1 Comment

From Focus On The Rainbow:

To show regular readers and passersby, regardless of sexual orientation, some of what is on the Internet which vilifies the LGBT community, below is the current offering at the anti-gay website “Americans For Truth About Homosexuality” which is written by Peter LaBarbera.

While many of the more popular LGBT bloggers make fun of LaBarbera about his website and writings, and in full disclosure so has this writer on a couple of occasions on two of my blogs where that is more appropriate, that is not the intent here.

It is for you, the reader to decide if what LaBarbera writes is correct or nothing more than scandalizing an entire segment of society with hate. Below is in it’s entirety the portion of the posting which LaBarbera writes his opin in a post titled, “Bill Keller Is Right: America Is Deeply Offended … by the Bible“. The caption in the photo is also the writing of LaBarbera (Note – the “emphasis” in LaBarbera’s writing is his).

Bill Keller Is Right: America Is Deeply Offended … by the Bible

I urge you to support Bill Keller and his daily “Live Prayer” programming this holiday season. This man of God has a heart for people and for this nation — which truly is in “full rebellion to God and His Truth” — like few others. I have been a guest on Keller’s show and know that he lovingly ministers to all sinners, including people caught up in homosexuality. Some one-time “gays” and “lesbians” have abandoned these disordered lifestyles through his ministry — surely lifted up by the heavenly petitions of LivePrayer viewers.

Who can deny that America needs prayer as the battle of good versus evil rages between our coasts? The other day I happened upon an old (2004) episode of the ABC comedy show Will & Grace that contained a subplot about a young woman who disappoints her male fiancé because it turns out she’s really a lesbian who has a crush on Grace, the show’s co-lead character (see photo). At a Thanksgiving meal at the dysfunctional home of the parents of homosexual co-lead character Will’s boyfriend, the newbie lesbian gets lost under the table so she can go “up the skirt” of a shocked Grace, who is sitting across from her — apparently to fondle Grace’s private parts!

Ha ha. Real funny. I’ll bet the writer was proud of himself for that classy bit of “gay humor.” Strategically-placed perverts who hate God are destroying this nation’s soul.

Who can deny that the Sexual Revolution — ushering in rampant promiscuity, the trivialization of the sacred, abortion-on-demand, the celebration of homosexuality and other perversions, and contempt for marriage — has warred against God and goodness in America? And why are we shocked that generations of American youth — influenced by a debased culture and those highly-placed pervs — are confused about biblical Truth on homosexuality, sex and marriage?

And yet I am struck by the faithful warriors like Keller, who labor well outside the politically-correct limelight, and who represent that old-fashioned force for greatness — godly virtue — that made America a unique nation. (Bill is not perfect: thankfully he got it wrong about George Bush not being reelected in 2004.)  “Tolerance” and worse, celebration, of any sin — fornication, homosexuality, pornography, abortion, etc. — brings down a civilization; it is hardly some sort of “all American” thing about which we should collectively boast. (This is the travesty of man-centered libertarianism.) In fact, America’s exportation to more innocent cultures abroad of immoral “entertainment” like Will & Grace only adds to our shame.

But as in Hollywood, shame seems to be in short supply in these United States. (Although we have plenty of pride, including the “queer” variety.) Against all odds, we need to humble ourselves, repent for our excessive tolerance (including for our own private, indulged sins), and pray for God to hold back his judgment and heal our land. America can only move back toward virtue if we return to the God and start becoming more offended by sin, and less offended by biblical Truth.

God bless you. — Peter LaBarbera, Americans For Truth

Americans for Twisting the Truth About Homosexuality

July 4, 2009 by James Hipps · 3 Comments

Ex-gay leader Peter LaBarbera, who runs the site American’s for Truth about Homosexuality, which is filled with anything but truth, and I dare say LaBarbera claiming to be “ex-gay”  is the biggest lie on the site, (but his cash cow) has once again attended a Gay Pride parade (this man is always going to Gay Pride parades).

As usual, he’s trying to make a point, so he begins put together a little YouTube video (view below) with the statement that 6 shootings took place in Chicago over the weekend.  He uses this information to criticize Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart by saying instead of being out “protecting citizens”, the sheriff had time to participate in the Chicago Pride parade.

OK, for one,  there very well may have been 6 shootings in Chicago.  Just in case you didn’t know, Chicago is a very large city with almost 3 million people.  Cook county has over 5 million.  So the number of shootings doesn’t shock me.  However, I’m not sure if Mr. Ex-Gay is just plain stupid, or really trying to demonstrate a lack of education, but either way, anyone with half a brain knows that in a county with over 5 million residents, it’s highly unlikely the sheriff would be the one who actually goes out to a crime scene.  I would also be curious to know if any of those shootings actually took place during the actual period that Sheriff Dart was in the parade…I haven’t found any evidence that supports that claim.  Lastly on this, I wonder if Mr. Ex-gay realizes that the Cook County Sheriff’s department isn’t always the ones who are called to respond to shootings, especially if they happen within Chicago proper.  That would fall into the jurisdiction of the Chicago Police Department, a separate law enforcement entity.  So, to answer your question Mr. Ex-gay, why yes, Sheriff Dart does has time, not to mention a duty and responsibility to show support at community events (even those dreaded gay ones that you somehow always seem to be in attendance of) as that is part of his job.

Then Mr. Ex-gay shows the group Bash Back, a relatively small, yet radical group of LGBT citizens who are tired of being bashed for being gay so they have adopted a non-mainstream way of demonstrating their anger and frustration.  The groups message basically is “if you mess with us, we’ll mess with you.”  Please note, I don’t condone violence, even for retaliatory reasons, nor do I have any affiliation with the group, but I do have an understanding of their frustrations.  Anyway, Mr. Ex-gay makes a point showing that Bash Back was marching 10 minutes behind Sheriff Dart with a sign that said “gay rights means fight cops”, and says something to the affect that the sheriff should be looking at who’s behind him.  Well, to someone who knows nothing about Gay Pride events, this may seem a bit ironic, but to anyone who knows about gay rights, and yes Mr. Ex-gay, you know too, the sign is referring to the Stonewall riots of of 1969, where LGBT patrons at a bar fought back against repeated police brutality, and thus started the modern day Gay Rights Movement.  Pretty easy for someone who is uneducated to take out of context, but to those who do know about Stonewall, pretty straight forward.  Yet, Mr. Ex-gay takes this and twists it into something that could be considered an “abomination”.

Well, Mr. Ex-gay.  Nice try on both accounts, and I’m sure your undereducated followers would be shocked by the lies that you’ve told and will fall victim to your misleading information.  But for the rest of us, and even yourself, we all know you’re a liar…and last I knew, lying went against the word of God…so be careful Mr. I used to have sex with men, one day, this too will produce bad karma in your life.

Just another Right Wing Nut, twisting the truth to make the LGBT community and our supporters look bad, and all for financial gain.

More in Common than We Thought

I came across a link to this reaction to Rea Carey’s speech at Creating Change, from Americans for Truth About Homosexuality. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that it’s a vile piece. They play up the Leather Leadership Award as evidence that the Task Force isn’t qualified to speak on right and morality, and clearly only have to say the words “transsexuality,” “prostitution,” “polyamory/nonmonogamy,” and “sexual freedom” to get their readers all grossed out and riled up. I also giggled at “If you are reading this website, you are seriously concerned about the homosexual activist agenda.” Yeah, actually, I am. Mostly I’m concerned with advancing it.

What I find fascinating about the article, though, is how similarly it reads to many things I see from the queer-positive radical left. The way they set the Left up as a monolithic, powerful Goliath against their poor, disorganized, minority David is awfully familiar.
