Anit-Gay Groups Start Fight for DOMA

Anti-gay “Christian” groups who are still having a difficult time with the election of a non gay hating president are gearing up for their fight to protect the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
The Alliance for Marriage Foundation, the group who drafted the Marriage Protection Amendment (MPA) in Congress, has launched a new website at www.ProtectDOMA.org. The site offers information and resources pertaining to DOMA, a law that forbids any federal agency from legally recognizing gay marriage.
The legislation was authored by then-Republican Georgia Representative Bob Barr and signed into law by then-President Bill Clinton in 1996. The biggest fear of repeal is that it would allow gay activists to push forward with equal rights and same-sex marriage would then become nationally recognized.
Rev. Sam Rodriguez, Jr., an AFM Advisory Board member and president of the National Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) stated;
“The repeal of DOMA is the legislative Holy Grail for activists who want to impose their radical social agenda upon America through the courts. The election of President-elect Barack Obama places the federal DOMA in peril.”
Did You Really Think They Would Stop at Gay Marriage?

From the Tampa Bay Times:
Seeking to capitalize on statewide passage of a gay marriage ban, a leading antigay-rights activist is setting his sights on same-sex domestic partnership benefits.
David Caton, executive director of the Florida Family Association, says he will seek a change to the Hillsborough County Charter in 2010 to pre-emptively ban same-sex benefits for county employees.
Efforts to recruit volunteers and collect signatures from voters to get the issue on the ballot will begin early next year, he said.
In interviews with the St. Petersburg Times and Miami Herald on Thursday, Caton sought to frame the issue as a fiscal, as much a moral, argument.
“We’re going to use the momentum from the marriage amendment to speak to the fact that most people in this state don’t want a recognition of that type of relationship,” Caton said. “At this time of economic stress, our government should not be providing benefits to nonemployees on the basis on their sexual relationships.”

A Letter From Candice to Newt: Stop Being a Hater

Dear Newt,
I recently had the displeasure of watching you bash the protesters of the Prop 8 marriage ban to Bill O’Reilly on FOX News. I must say, after years of watching you build your career by stirring up the fears and prejudices of the far right, I feel compelled to use the words of your idol, Ronald Reagan, “There you go, again.”
However, I realize that you may have been a little preoccupied lately with planning your resurrection as the savior of your party, so I thought I would fill you in on a few important developments you might have overlooked.
The truth is that you’re living in a world that no longer exists. I, along with millions of Americans, clearly see the world the way it as — and we embrace what it can be. You, on the other hand, seem incapable of looking for new ideas or moving beyond what worked in the past.

AFA - Absolute Facist Animals - Coming to Your Town!
November 21, 2008 by James Hipps · Leave a Comment
It looks like the anti-gay hate group the AFA (American Family Association) which is headed up by living proof that satan in alive and well right here on earth, Donald E. Wildmon is at it again. This time they have created a DVD which they are begging those greater than thou “Christian Soldiers” to buy and share with their communities entitled “They’re Coming to Your Town”. Its a DVD that demonstrates how the Gay Agenda, and gay activist are pushing their way in and infiltrating “your” town and how they must and can be stopped! Those damned homosexuals!
One thing I’m sure the DVD doesn’t expose however is that we (GLBT persons) are already there.
Check it out by clicking here. But use caution. You may not want to eat or drink anything prior to visiting the site as you may become violently ill from the hate and bigotry spewed. Also, make sure you are ready to handle how so called “Christians” of this country are bashing you…and all in the name of God!
Syracuse Man Was Killed for Being Gay

From Syracuse.com:
Dwight R. DeLee shot and killed Moses “Teish” Cannon with a .22-caliber rifle Friday night because he didn’t like that Cannon was openly gay, Syracuse police said.
Cannon, 22, and his brother, Mark Cannon, 18, both of 404 Arthur St., were shot as they sat in a car parked in front of 411 Seymour St., where they had been invited to a party. The bullet grazed the left arm of Mark Cannon, who was in the driver’s seat, and hit Moses Cannon in the chest, police said.
Police have charged DeLee, 20, of 420 Gifford St., with second-degree murder. DeLee went into the home at 411 Seymour St. to get the rifle after guests at the party started “making profane and vulgar comments in regards to the sexual preference of our two victims,” police Chief Gary Miguel said.
“There was no previous argument between these individuals, there was no previous fight, there was no bad blood,” Miguel said. “Our suspect took a rifle and shot and killed this person, also wounding his brother, for the sole reason he didn’t care for the sexual preference of our victim. Isn’t that sad? Isn’t that a sad situation that that’s the sole reason why?
