Burundi Seeks to Criminalize Homosexuality

The central African nation of Burundi’s parliament passed a set of laws recently that incorporate elements of international law regarding genocide and crimes against humanity that will abolish the death penalty and criminalize homosexuality.

The new law passed the parliament easily and still needs the approval of the senate. The new law also protects women and children from all forms of sexual violence including sexual violence and it will outlaw torture as well.
