According to the SF Gate:
Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of four men who allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped for nearly an hour a 28-year-old Richmond woman, who was left naked when they fled in her car.
The crime, which occurred on Dec. 13, is being investigated as a hate crime because of comments the suspects made about the victim’s sexual orientation, police said. The woman is openly lesbian and had a rainbow sticker on her license plate, a symbol of gay pride.
“The emotional impact has changed her life,” said Lt. Mark Gagan of the Richmond Police Department. “It is an absolute nightmare for her to have gone through. For 45 minutes, four strangers brutalized her.”
The ordeal began around 9:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Visalia Avenue in Richmond’s Belding-Wood neighborhood, said Gagan.
The woman was sexually assaulted in that location after she got out of her car, police said. Then she was forced back into her vehicle after the suspects noticed someone approaching. She was driven seven blocks away to the 1300 block of Burbeck Avenue, where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted near an apartment complex, Gagan said.
I wonder if this is suffering enough for Mike Huckabee?
Campbell Soup is Mmm, Mmm Good!

The Campbell Soup company is now under fire from James Dobson’s anti-gay hate following, a.k.a. the Focus on the Family because they have run an ad in the December 2008 and January 2009 issues of “The Advocate” which depicts a family of two moms and a child.
According to the hate-based religious group;
“The Campbell’s Soup Company purchased a pair of two-page advertisement spreads in one of the nation’s leading pro-homosexual magazines, including an ad highlighting a lesbian couple and their son.”
Looks like the Religious Right may be eating a lot of Progresso this winter!
LGBT People Are Just That…..People

Every now and them it’s good to be reminded of the basics. For this blog, one of those is the fact that LGBT people are not deserving of being cast off into a lesser class of citizens. They are full fledged members of the human race and should receive all rights that go along with it.
Here’s an excerpt from a passionate essay from The Huffington Post by Sara Whitman that serves as a reminder of that fact:
I don’t want pity. I am stronger than most people. I can haul wood or groceries or laundry endless distances. I can stay up all night and rub a sick child’s back until they can fall back asleep again. I can cook dinner for my family every night or for 50 people on Superbowl Sunday.
I can hold unbearable past experiences and still breathe in the joy of my life today.

Portmore residents have lashed out against a lesbian club said to operating in the municipality and are adamant that they do not want any such club or activity in their community.
Recently, in a local Sunday newspaper, a man placed an advertisement for girls between 18 and 30 years old to form a lesbian club named ‘Circle Square’ in Portmore. However, this did not gone down well with the residents of the municipality.“Not under God’s earth! God don’t want that at all … It’s abominable in God’s sight. I’m pleading to them don’t let that come off the ground,” the Reverend Elisha Thomas, a pastor in Portmore, said. “They must remember that it was homosexuality that brought the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.”

According to a transition official, President-elect Barack Obama is prepared to announce plans to name Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Nancy Sutley, as chairwoman of his White House Council on Environmental Quality.
This is the first appointment of a prominent gay or lesbian to the Obama administration.
Earlier during the 2008 presidential race, Sutley was a member of Hillary Clinton’s California Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender steering committee. Since, Sutley has entered the Obama arena.
As the transition started, Obama named Sutley to the team reviewing the Environmental Protection Agency.
Obama plans to announce Sutley’s nomination later, as part of a package of environmental appointments.
