Here are some of our short comedies about gay marriage and gay issues. The two on the right were bundled as a point/counterpoint and were the co–winners of the Boston Comedy and Movie Festival in August 2008. They’ve received over 50,000 views on the web since including a posting on Margaret Cho’s blog.

Challenging the Idea of Normalcy

From emorywheel.com:
Social justice advocate Jessica Pettitt, who is often referred to as the “Margaret Cho of diversity training,” encouraged students to confront the prejudices of their subconscious on Tuesday night through her workshop “Just Rescue.”
The event, held as a part of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month, was sponsored by the Center for Women, Office of LGBT Life and the Office of Multicultural Programs and Services.
A self-described lesbian married to a man that used to be a woman named Lauren, Pettitt’s interactive workshop was designed to help students identify assumptions about people’s identities, through unconventional methods.
“I’m not here to tell you not to make judgments, but in order to make change it’s important to be aware of your judgments and what they do. We’re all imperfect,” Pettitt said in her opening statement.
She then grouped off audience members and presented each team with a scenario requiring them to save 10 of 14 storm victims stranded on a rooftop based on descriptive titles of the victims, which included an HIV-positive person, a pregnant black teen, a 330-pound man and a drag queen, among others.

From xtra.ca:
What does one get on mixing the puritanical, repressed culture of new immigrant Koreans with the bold, brash world of the liberated San Francisco gaybourhood, topped off with a potent dash of the comedy genes?
An unsurprisingly explosive result: the irrepressible, combative and hilarious Margaret Cho.
Cho seldom needs introducing, so we’ll make it quick. She’s the Korean comedian whose routines you know by heart (or should).

Margaret Cho Gets New TV Show
August 15, 2008 by James Hipps · 1 Comment
Actress and Comedian, Margaret Cho is returning to television on with her new sitcom/reality show, “The Cho Show.” The premier is set to air on VH1 August 21st. The show will document Cho’s everyday life, along with her diverse mix of friends and her parents.
“The Cho Show” will be the first time she has been in a television series since the 1994 sitcom, “All-American Girl.” Cho says she is looking forward to getting back on the small screen, but on her terms.
Cho said, “It’s the first time that I’ve actually been able to figure out how to make my standup into a sitcom format, which is totally unusual and totally different. It’s like a sitcom but with real people. It’s kind of a different take on what is reality, but what is comedy, so it’s comedy, but it’s also very real and different.”
Cho has been a huge favorite of the GLBT community, so we feel certain the show is going to be gay-friendly. Welcome back Margaret!
