The Religious Right Has Warped the Nation

From Visalia Times:
Republicans continue to preach fear. Liberalism means that just maybe we will all share in the American dream.
King George and his conservative evangelists would prefer that we set aside the programs established in the 1930s and privatize Social Security, so that the rich who control Wall Street would now have more than half the paycheck of the elderly as they now have more than half of the retirement funds for the American worker.

King George would also change the Constitution of the United States denying people freedom that the Constitution guarantees “separation of church and state.”
The Economist: It’s Time for Barack Obama

From The Economist:
It is impossible to forecast how important any presidency will be. Back in 2000 America stood tall as the undisputed superpower, at peace with a generally admiring world. The main argument was over what to do with the federal government’s huge budget surplus. Nobody foresaw the seismic events of the next eight years. When Americans go to the polls next week the mood will be very different. The United States is unhappy, divided and floundering both at home and abroad. Its self-belief and values are under attack.
For all the shortcomings of the campaign, both John McCain and Barack Obama offer hope of national redemption. Now America has to choose between them. The Economist does not have a vote, but if it did, it would cast it for Mr Obama. We do so wholeheartedly: the Democratic candidate has clearly shown that he offers the better chance of restoring America’s self-confidence. But we acknowledge it is a gamble. Given Mr Obama’s inexperience, the lack of clarity about some of his beliefs and the prospect of a stridently Democratic Congress, voting for him is a risk. Yet it is one America should take, given the steep road ahead.

Gary Baur Speaks for God Against America

Religious-right honchos are girding the troops for political apocalypse. Townhall magazine, owned by Salem Communications, one of the largest Christian broadcasters in the country, ran a September feature, “Obamageddon: Could We Survive a Barack Presidency?” This month evangelical publishing giant Stephen Strang, whose magazine Charisma endorsed McCain, predicted that “life as we know it will end if Obama is elected.” Last week, the political arm of James Dobson’s Focus on the Family sent out a “Letter from 2012 in Obama’s America”, a 16-page parade of horribles, and talk radio show host Janet Porter imagined that Christians will be imprisoned with Obama in the Oval Office.
Christian right activist and McCain supporter Gary Bauer openly worried to televangelist Rod Parsley that an Obama presidency could mean that “God could take his hand of protection off of America.” Further economic woes? A national security or military crisis? Don’t blame the morally bankrupt party that the religious right has enabled for the past three decades. Blame Obamageddon.

When Sailors Jump Ship You Know Its Over

Well, it didn’t quite begin with General Colin Powell, or with Scott McClellan, or a host of others, but today another McCain Campaign official parted ranks from the campaign to call Sarah Palin a “DIVA”.
I thought only Opera Stars and Drag Queens were divas. I guess I was wrong, but I can promise you this; No matter what the polls seem to say, and they do say Obama is a pretty certain winner, the insiders know better. This coming election is going to be a landslide victory for Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Those other anemic screamers and the rest of their wealth slave Republicans from the Senate and House can serve dinner to the new family of African Americans sitting in the White House. Oh, if I could only be seated at the table with the black family in office to see Sarah spill the soup all over herself. Imagine that, dropping that soup all over her 3,000.00 dollar outfits.
I guess that image helped me to get it. She really is a Diva. I’ll name her “Death Star” and now she’s ready to go out and compete with other drag queens at a few pageants. Sarah, when the panel of judges question you as to whom the real Sarah Palin is, you can use this line; “when at first you don’t succeed, try and try again!”
The Real Right Wing Threat to America

From opednews.com:
If Obama is elected, expect the religious right to stir the radical conservatives up continually. Whether the country will see a replay of Ruby Ridge is total speculation, but it is possible. If Proposition 8 in California is defeated, that will give the radicals even more cause and reason to further the revolution talk. Proposition 8 is an initiative that would change the California Constitution to define a marriage as being between a man and woman, thus overturning a recent State Supreme Court decision allowing gays to marry.
