Evan Chandler — the father of Jordan Chandler, who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him — allegedly committed suicide, the New York Post reports.

The 65-year-old was found in his Jersey City apartment with his .38-caliber revolver in his hand, officials claim. No note was found with the body.

In the 1990s, Jordan Chandler and his parents received $20 million settlement from Jackson over the sexual abuse claims, although the late King of Pop was never charged with the crime.

Madonna’s Beautiful Tribute at the MTV Awards

September 14, 2009 by James Hipps · Leave a Comment

Madonna spoke at the 2009 MTV Awards in NYC last night and she delivered one of the most heartfelt talks I’ve heard in a long time. She was talking about the untimely death of Michael Jackson.

Her speech was eloquent, and she did a great job of pointing out how when times get tough, we, as humans, have a nature of turning our backs on those who need us most.

She spoke about how sometimes the roar of lynch mob is so loud that we can’t hear our own voices. I completely relate that with so much that’s going on today in the political world. Those from the right wing lunatic fringe are the lynch mob!

But not to get off track, it was a great speech…about a great man. She did a great job of humanizing Michael, herself, and all of us. If you missed it, you’ll want to watch it below.

It was followed by a phenomenal performance by Janet…another one to see again…the girl still has it!

At times throughout her career, I’ve wondered about Madonna. I’ve wondered how someone so powerful, so famous and so wealthy could possibly stay grounded. Well, her speech tonight was not only living proof that she is grounded…but that she recognizes, that she, along with all of us, are part of the human race.

I’ve always liked Madonna, but tonight, because of her words, I’ve gained a greater amount of respect and admiration for her than I ever though possible!

From MSNBC.com:

The Los Angeles County coroner has ruled Michael Jackson’s death a homicide, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press, a finding that makes it more likely criminal charges will be filed against the doctor who was with the pop star when he died on June 25.

The coroner determined a fatal combination of drugs was given to Jackson hours before he died in his rented Los Angeles mansion, according to the official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released. Forensic tests found the powerful anesthetic propofol acted together with at least two sedatives to cause Jackson’s death, the official said.
