Huckabee: Once You Change Marriage, There is “No Limit”

No Mike, this is NOT about changing marriage. Marriage hasn’t always meant the same thing. At one time it meant multiple spouses. At one time it was a pre-arranged union. At one time people of various colors weren’t allowed to marry.

This whole rhetoric about how “gay marriage” will lead to polygamy is absurd to say the least. It hasn’t in The Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Spain, Norway, and Sweden.

Mike, you say is so calm and smooth. You actually think people can see beyond your caring tone?  Do you think for one minute, just because you use a Mr. Rogers style voice when you spew anti-gay rhetoric that anyone other than those brainwashed by the religious right believes you care about anyone’s marriage.  YOU DON”T LIKE GAY PEOPLE…have the MANHOOD to come out and say it!  You can say it however you want, but the fact remains, you are a homophobic bigot. We’ve all heard the saying “a rose is still a rose by any other name”, yes Mike, and bigotry and discrimination is still bigotry and discrimination, no matter how hard you try to twist it around to be so supportive of “opposite marriage”. How many “gay friends” do you have Mike?  When was the last time you went to a gay couple’s house for dinner?  Of course, I would also ask, when was the last time you went to a person of color’s house for dinner because they are your “friend”?   You are against LGBT having equality. You stood against hate-crimes legislation. You don’t agree with anti-discrimination laws that include LBGT citizens. You are a part of the religious right machine and you are a homophobic bigot!

Stewart Derails Huckabee on Marriage Equality

Jon Stewart has continued to be a huge ally of the LGBT community using his voice to debate and dispel the rhetoric and religious ideology behind anti-gay discrimination.

I find the clip below, humorous, yet interesting how Huckabee really has no defense for his beliefs other than “that’s the way it’s always been”, which Stewart factually disputes as well.

Thanks Jon Stewart. You really are one of MY heroes!

Mike Huckabee is the Darling of the Anti-LGBT Right

The GOP sure has a way of resurrecting their dead. Or rather, their losing Presidential candidates. There was Richard Nixon (lost in 1960). There was the first George Bush (lost in 1980). Bob Dole (also lost in 1980). John McCain (lost in 2000). And now there’s former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who while getting his clock cleaned in 2008 after a few surprise primary victories, has again emerged as a darling of the radical, anti-LGBT right-wing.

Joke or Not, Huckabee Shows Right Wing Discrimination and Ignorance

During a recent speech as a campaign promotion for Virginia’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell, Mike Huckabee “jokingly” made a comment referring to voter suppression. He told supporters at the rally to keep the opposition’s supporters away from the polls. Huckabee stated it was “their job” to keep McDonnell opponents away by letting “the air our of their tires … keep ‘em home. Do the Lord’s work.”

Attendees of the rally found humor in the statements, but the Democratic candidate, Terry McAuliffe wasn’t amused. He sent a letter to his own supporters highlighting Huckabee’s comments and stating, “People died for the right to vote in this country, and we have to protect it.”

Oh those Right Wing nuts doing the “Lords work”. Keeping people of color from voting, keeping gays and lesbians from full citizenship…it’s so much fun to oppress!

Right-Wing Nuts Huckabee and Coulter Square Off

Last Saturday, Mike Huckabee hosted Ann Coulter on his Fox News show.  Looks like Fox has become a home for the land of the misfit Right Wing Nuts since the real networks won’t have them spew there bigoted rhetoric anymore.  Huckabee confronts Coulter for stating he was “too liberal” (Mike Huckabee – Liberal?? Are you kidding me?) He also confronted her on her accusations that he was “pro-gay”. Are you kidding me with this? The guy who said gay people hadn’t earned civil rights because they haven’t had their skulls cracked open is too liberal? These two epitomize the hate, intolerance and bigotry of those on the Right.

HUCKABEE: I am not, as you characterized me in one article, pro-gay, pro-sodomy. That is so not me.

COULTER: Yes, there was a Supreme Court decision. You said you agreed or disagreed with. I got you on that Mike Huckabee.

HUCKABEE: Nope. You didn’t. I am definitely not pro-sodomy. I promise, scout’s honor.
