December 10, 2009 by James Hipps · 4 Comments
Thanks to our friends over at Focus On The Rainbow for pointing this one out! There’s something repugnant about Hilton and I love the honest smack down! Below is KTLA’s Sam Rubin giving it to him!
My favorite line: “You talentless dope!” This is HILARIOUS!

Should Prejean Be Scrutinized?
November 21, 2009 by Gay Agenda News Team · 5 Comments
In the news recently there has been media scrutiny against the newly crowned Miss California Carrie Prejean, who’s been taking harsh heat for responding to a gay marriage question, but saying, I think Marriage is between a Man and a Women.
Many newspapers, television shows, and gay rights organizations have been relentlessly bashing the fallen princess by playing up the recent discovery of her six sex tapes and the candid photos taken by a “mean photographer”, that took advantage of the situation, says Prejean.
Fergie Speaks OUT to The Advocate

In this exclusive interview, Fergie comes clean with The Advocate about her role in Rob Marshall’s next film Nine, the Black Eyed Peas brewing feud with Perez Hilton, and how her bisexuality plays out in her marriage to Transformers hottie Josh Duhamel. A few juicy tidbits as well as a link to The Advocate’s interview are below!
ADVOCATE: OK, but what surprised me most about the incident was that it escalated after you confronted Perez about his negative coverage of you and your music on his blog. I was surprised you’d even care about one queen’s opinion.
FERGIE: Yeah, I did. Because when I see somebody I thought was my friend or starting to be my friend… [Sighs] When someone talks out of both sides of their mouth, it just makes me question their integrity.
ADVOCATE: How did Josh handle the hoopla [her bisexuality]?
FERGIE: I’ve been very honest with him from the get-go. I think women are beautiful, I’ve had a lot of fun with women, and I’m not ashamed of it. The problem is that I also love a well-endowed man…
FERGIE (on gaining weight for her role in Nine): Everyone would have these light salads and Daniel Day-Lewis would have his little dessert of a dark chocolate chunk and a few almonds, but I’d be eating burgers and fries because I was gaining weight for the role. I even sent my assistant out to find microwave enchiladas in London. Penélope Cruz gained weight the healthy way with pasta and protein shakes, but I did not.

The Gay ‘Civil Likes’ Movement
November 6, 2009 by Gay Agenda News Team · Leave a Comment
As I watched the World Series this week, I could not help but think: If a player were 0-31 at bat, he would be demoted to the minor leagues. Yet, the major league players in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender movement can’t seem to change strategies or try new approaches. We are a creative people who produced the likes of Michelangelo, Tennessee Williams, Oscar Wilde and Perez Hilton. Yet, in our collective wisdom, we are unable to switch gears and admit that our tactics are not working.
I want to make it clear that I am not blaming the campaign in Maine. They did a fantastic job in all aspects of this fight. NO on 1/Protect Maine Equality Campaign Manager Jesse Conolly took us within a stone’s throw of winning marriage at the ballot box in a rural state.
What I have an enormous problem with is that we keep repeating the same fundamental mistakes.

Latino Community Becoming Gay Friendlier?
September 12, 2009 by James Hipps · 2 Comments
There’s a very interesting post on CNN.com entitled; Gay Latino Americans are ‘coming of age’.
The basis of the story is that being openly gay in the Latino culture isn’t an easy thing to do, but as time changes everything, attitudes towards homosexuality in the Latino community are starting to shift towards acceptance.
Now it really doesn’t surprise me that many Latino people find it difficult to accept the LGBT community, based on the fact that a large percentage of the Latino population is devoutly Catholic. I am happy to hear that attitudes are changing, but one thing this article points out, which I’m not able to put a finger on how it makes me feel is the fact they claim that Perez Hilton has been the catalyst for change.
According to the post (click here for entire post):
Perez Hilton is a celebrity blogger who dishes out the latest Hollywood gossip, but there’s something about his personal life you may not know.
Hilton is a Latino pioneer. He is one of the first Latino public figures in the U.S. to be openly gay. While Latinos have broken ground on the U.S. Supreme Court, in Hollywood and in professional sports, gay Latinos in the nation’s public arena remain largely invisible.
Now while I’ll readily admit that Perez Hilton is a “pioneer” (not in the same way CNN refers to him as), I shutter at the thought that he has been the reason for change. I suppose we need as much help as we can in gaining acceptance, but are we simply desperate?
First with his calling Carrie Prejean a “b*tch” then calling Fergie a “fugly b*tch”, I’m not so sure he is a person the LGBT community needs to be hailed as hero.
I often times look to CNN for facts, not fiction. And as much as I agree that Perez is one of the few “out” Latinos, I am much more inclined to believe that attitudes are changing on a global scale due to education and not so much because one person, who acts a fool (and makes damn good money doing it) who happens to be Latino, has helped the world see the light through public cries for attention.
Now, before any Perez fans start to beat me over the head, I’m really not bashing the guy. No, I don’t agree with his outlandish outburst and name calling, but hey, then again, I don’ t make near the money he does, so perhaps I’m the one who is wrong.
But, if the LGBT community is going to have people we look to for guidance and leadership, I would hope we find some who guide and lead with dignity and respect…for both themselves, and others.
