Rachel Maddow Gets Her Own TV Show

Rachel Maddow, who has been talking and debating politics on MSNBC so often, you may think it’s her show, now has one.

The commentator and host of Air America, will be taking over the 9 p.m. slot following Keith Olbermann, who she often is a subs for on “Countdown.” Olbermann broke the news in what he called a “fully authorized leak” on the website Daily Kos.

Maddow, 35, is now busting into what has commonly been referred to as the boys club at the network, led by Olbermann and Chris Matthews. MSNBC has often been accursed of sexist coverage, especially during the Democratic primaries earlier this year. Maddow, who lives with her girlfriend Susan Mikula in Manhattan and Northampton, Mass., may also be the first openly gay woman to host a prime-time program, which is set to debut September 8th.
