Cheney Has ‘Em On Their Feet

CPAC — the Conservative Political Action Conference — opened its annual event this morning in Washington, in a mood far different from last year’s meeting.
Back in February 2009, President Obama had skyrocketing polling numbers, Democrats had just added to their majorities, and Republicans were down in the dumps. Whatever energy conservatives had was hard to find.
No longer. Tea Parties have sprouted up all over the country, Republicans scored big in recent elections, the Obama numbers are falling, and the Right has been heartened by Dem departures in the Senate.
And the change in mood is like night and day at CPAC. For conservatives, on the defensive during the latter years of the Bush administration and a bit dispirited after the Obama victory, 2012 can’t come soon enough.
One thing conservatives may be ignoring, however, is polls show that the only ones with worse numbers than the Democrats are … the Republicans.
But CPAC is not about Republicans; it’s about conservatives. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) made that clear this morning when he said he would rather have 30 Marco Rubios in the Senate than 60 Arlen Specters. Now, I think that’s a line that probably would have made more sense when Specter was a Republican. But his point was clear: many on the Right would rather have fewer Republicans in the Senate with strong conservative values — like Rubio, who is running in Florida — than having 60 Republicans who are less committed to conservative positions. And when he mentioned the name of Charlie Crist, the governor of Florida who is the GOP establishment candidate in that Senate race, the result was loud boos.
Gay Marriage and the 2012 Iowa Caucuses
February 11, 2010 by Gay Agenda News Team · 1 Comment
Earlier this week, when anti-gay legislators in the state of Iowa failed in their efforts to move forward a ballot measure that would have repealed marriage equality in the state, one thing became absolutely certain: same-sex marriage will be on a lot of people’s minds once the 2012 Iowa Caucuses heat up.
Lest you think it’s too early to start talking about Iowa, think again. The caucuses are less than two years away now, and judging by the political trips of folks like Tim Pawlenty, Mike Huckabee, and Sarah Palin, Iowa is front and center for a lot of GOP Presidential hopefuls. Every single one of these cats, as well as a certain President running for re-election, is going to be asked about same-sex marriage. How will they answer?

Sarah Palin IS the Right Wing Queen
February 8, 2010 by James Hipps · Leave a Comment
Yes, it’s become apparent, now more than ever, that Alaska’s former governor who quit during mid-term IS the queen of the right wing, leading her pack of wolves to the feast of hypocrisy.
Here’s a woman, who publicly denounces President Obama for reading teleprompters, yet has to have notes written on her hand to remember a few things that shouldn’t be that difficult to remember.
Here’s a woman who get’s up to talk for an hour about the economy, something she really isn’t qualified to speak about, yet is being paid $100,000 to do so…Hypocrisy at it’s best! The good ole’ American way! It’s all about the money!
Here’s a woman, who get’s up in front of people and talks about the constitution, and yet, has she ever read the constitution? Or even if she has (which I seriously doubt) would she understand it? Yet, through her cute little hockey mom smile and her “you betchyas” she has wormed her way into the hearts of millions who just love her because they think she’s just like them…not a very positive perspective of the average American if you ask me.
Sarah Palin is not qualified to run the U.S. She couldn’t even run Alaska. Sarah Palin LOVES to talk trash about President Obama, and sometimes for his community organizing background, yet, what’s her educational background again? Oh yes, that’s right, 6 schools to complete a 4 year degree. Not to dog out anyone without the same level of education of President Obama, as I haven’t those credentials either, yet I’m not up making statements about things I know nothing about and getting paid $100,000 an hour to do it by people (in the words of Rush Limbaugh) who have chosen to not participate in the recession.
But, this is typical of the right wing. And speaking of Rush, let me beat a dead horse for a moment and size up another right wing “leader”. Can anyone say college drop out and OxyContin? Yet this man makes hundreds of millions because he knows how to talk trash about others.
But maybe, just maybe, only maybe, some of those right wingers may be starting to see through the smoke and mirrors.
According to a post on Red State, a highly conservative, Obama hating, website:
Let me be blunt: charging people $500.00 plus the costs of travel and lodging to go to a “National Tea Party Convention” run by a for profit group no one has ever heard of sounds as credible as an email from Nigeria promising me a million bucks if I fork over my bank account number.
And when it comes to Sarah Palin leading the “PAC”, the site projects:
I am more fearful that a bunch of well meaning people from across the nation are going to show up, expect more, and then grow disaffected or burn out when the deliverables they expect do not come in.
So again, are the right wingers starting to come to their senses or will the tide carry these nobodies (I mean really, they are nobodies when you look at it) to safety? Will the right winging, tea parting, conservatives stay afloat on hypocrisy, fear and ignorance or will they drown in their flailing attempt to keep their head above water? I suppose only time will tell, but I for one, will not be tossing in life rafts out!
Florida Gov Supports Don’t Ask Don’t Tell
February 5, 2010 by James Hipps · 2 Comments
Yes sir! Florida’s Republican Governor Charlie Crist has spoken out in favor of maintaining the military’s discriminatory “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy.
U.S. Senate rivals Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio both said today they oppose abolishing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy affecting gays and lesbians in the military.
The 1993 policy was intended to be a political compromise that let gay men and women serve so long as they stayed silent about their sexuality. But President Barack Obama and top military leaders say it is time to end the discrimination all together.
“We are a nation at war. The governor believes the current policy has worked, and there is no need to make changes,” Crist campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said.
Of course, as rumors of Charlie’s homosexuality has plagued him for years, maybe Crist is simply leading by example?

The universe is out of whack. How else can one explain that our President’s black? As anyone who watches disaster movies can deduce, A black President means that soon all Hell’s gonna break loose.
Of course, the most recent blockbuster drama, is the one starring President Obama.
But in a galaxy far, far away, Republicans have created their very own “Real USA.”
In that happy parallel universe, the President is still white. There are a few minorities around, but they’re very polite.
Nothing bad ever happens (at least nothing their fault). We’re a White Christian Nation again, at least by default.
Women stay home and nobody’s gay. The streets are safe for children to play.
There’s still some crime left, but it doesn’t matter, because it’s not in the parts of the country that matter.
People only do wholesome things for fun, and everybody owns (and carries) a gun.
Removal of aliens and most minorities has been completed, So the police are no longer needed.
There’s no sex education in school, abstinence Only is the rule.
Birth control and abortion are not allowed, because neither are necessary (at least that’s what’s avowed).
