Barbara West, Please Quit Your Job Because You…

Recently, Barbara West of WFTV News in Orlando, Florida interviewed VP Nominee Joe Biden. Watch this feeble attempt at journalism from an obvious McCain supporter.

Now, here is a copy of the email I sent her (I just couldn’t help myself):

As a reporter, writer and editor (and a member of the NLGJA) I am APPALLED at your attempt to disgrace the media by your interview with Joe Biden.  Your party preference is SO obvious and the questions were a joke, yet at the edge of racist.

I have been involved with a much greater amount of philanthropy than you and now I know why.  You are a republican.  But even worse, you let your party affiliation show and for no other reason than trying to make a name for yourself.  That is NOT journalism, that’s an embarrassment.

Do us all a favor….QUIT YOU JOB!  Your ignorance is striking.  Your reporting is a travesty.  If you want to work for the republican party, I’m sure they’ll hire you.  They are always looking for those who will mislead and not be ashamed to do so.

It’s like Susan Smith and Charles Stuart all over again — a disturbed person blaming a non-existent black man for a crime, fomenting the fear of “the Other” based on our country’s inability to acknowledge and deal with race, difference, and stereotypes. That this perpetrator of a hoax was a McCain campaign worker underscores the whole whipped up race frenzy of the McCain mob that we’ve seen in the last several weeks.
